The Institute for Bird Populations
The Institute for Bird Populations (IBP) was founded by my dear friend, Dave DeSante, who passed away on October 18, 2022 while pursuing a rare (to here) Willow Warbler. I did two different internships with IBP (bird banding in Texas in 2004 and Black-backed Woodpecker tracking in Plumas National Forest, California, in 2013) and highly recommend working with this Petaluma-based organization, which offers internships throughout the country & carries Dave's enduring legacy into the future.
